Moxe Kicks Off Process to Earn Validated Data Stream Designation from NCQA

The Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) Program sets a high bar for how data is managed
At Moxe, we believe that securely and effectively sharing clinical data between stakeholders (e.g., providers, payers, partners, and patients) is the key to improving healthcare. We want to help clinicians and their support teams make their jobs easier so they can focus on what really matters, delivering world class patient care. Working with NCQA to validate the integrity of our clinical data streams aligns with our mission as we strive to enable smarter collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem. We’re excited to be joining NCQA’s latest cohort of partners participating in the DAV program.
About the DAV Program
NCQA recently introduced the DAV program to improve the efficiency of quality measurement processes and help payers manage costs, advance quality care, and empower provider engagement. Data streams earning validation participate in a rigorous review of data integrity, quality, and security. This program is seen as a critical step in achieving NCQA’s vision to create a digital measurement ecosystem. Organizations that choose to participate in DAV can offer a key differentiator to their customers as it establishes trust in the validity of aggregated clinical data. With DAV, payers can streamline HEDIS® reporting, meet and exceed quality goals, and close gaps in care. Ultimately, earning validation builds trust across stakeholders by ensuring accurate data for value-based initiatives.
An opportunity to further streamline clinical data exchange
HEDIS reporting is one of the best use cases for validated data streams. Many of our customers rely on external data sources to prepare their annual HEDIS reporting; each year they conduct an audit to prove that what they report ties back to the source system in a process called primary source verification (PSV). PSV involves tracing metric data all the way upstream to an individual clinical record. This can be incredibly burdensome for organizations that rely on multiple sources of clinical data. By earning NCQA’s validation, Moxe’s data streams will satisfy the HEDIS program standards for completeness and accuracy, and our partners will no longer have to perform independent PSVs on the clinical data we provide.
As data stream validation eliminates downstream audits, it will have a network effect in relieving administrative burden for our customers. The United States Department of Health and Human Services estimates that 90% of US health plans use HEDIS metrics to report on quality of care and service performance, which means the overwhelming majority of US health plans must also prove the integrity of their metrics each year through HEDIS audits. Once validated, our customers will be able to meet HEDIS requirements without having to perform independent PSV audits.
Moxe is on track receive validation by Q4 2022
Moxe joined the latest DAV cohort on July 25th, 2022. This program lasts 18 weeks and verifies adherence to NCQA’s process, system, and data standards. We expect to receive validated stream status from NCQA by the end of 2022. Once this process is complete, output from any of our validated data streams will be included at no additional cost to our customers. We are excited about the opportunity to further advance clinical data aggregation and create additional efficiencies and value for our customers.
